Our Food Philosophy

Thank you for your interest!

We believe in minimally processed foods and bold flavors for the whole family. We know that kids eat vegetables and other healthful foods when they’re offered every day and shared with parents. We cook simply and with love.

Our favorite foods include:
Fresh vegetables, especially leafy greens and orange roots
Whole fruits, fresh or dried
Legumes (dried beans, lentils, split peas, etc.)
Whole grains (100% whole wheat, whole oats, brown rice, quinoa, etc.)
Whole dairy and whole eggs
Unprocessed meats, sparingly
Cold-pressed oils (extra virgin olive and coconut oils, etc.)

Instead of reading labels, we buy foods that don’t have labels. When our food does come out of a box or a bag, there are a few ingredients we make sure it doesn’t contain:

Refined flours (white bread/pasta, white rice, etc.)
Refined oils (soybean, vegetable, canola, palm, etc., hydrogenated or not)
Sugars or syrups (high fructose corn syrup, brown rice syrup, "natural" sugar, etc.)
Artificial dyes
Processed meats
Preservatives

Stepping back to look at the big picture, we envision a country (a world!) in which our kids grow up to champion food for health, heritage, environmental stewardship, and true pleasure. They look to us to learn these values. Join us in teaching them!
